My name is Sophie Morgan, and I’m a home cook from New Jersey who believes that great food doesn’t have to be complicated.

My love for cooking began in my grandmother’s kitchen, where I first learned the magic of simple ingredients coming together to create something wonderful. Over the years, I’ve carried those lessons with me, especially the idea that cooking is more about heart than perfection. At 36, I’ve learned that a warm kitchen, a bit of patience, and a sprinkle of curiosity can turn any meal into something special.
When I first started cooking on my own, it wasn’t always pretty. I’ve mixed up salt and sugar, burned my fair share of bread, and once turned an entire batch of soup into an explosion of tomato confetti because I forgot the blender lid. But through every messy moment, I realized that the joy of cooking lies in the process. It’s about laughing at the small disasters, celebrating the victories, and discovering how a homemade meal can bring people together around the table.

In 2018, I created CooklyFamily to share this joy with others. What started as a small personal project has grown into a cozy corner of the internet for anyone who loves easy, delicious recipes. My goal is to help beginners feel confident in the kitchen—to show that you don’t need a professional setup or culinary degree to cook meals that make your family smile. Every recipe I share is meant to feel doable, warm, and a little bit fun—like cooking with a friend who’s cheering you on.
Today, I live in New Jersey with my husband and our two kids, who often join me in the kitchen as my little taste-testers. Our home is filled with laughter, a bit of chaos, and the comforting smell of something cooking on the stove. Through CooklyFamily, I hope to pass on that same feeling—of connection, joy, and creativity—to everyone who visits. Whether you’re just starting your cooking journey or looking to rediscover the fun in everyday meals, I’m so happy you’re here to cook along with me.
