Ingredients

  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 pound rigatoni pasta
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish


Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions.
  2. Brown sausage in a large skillet. Remove sausage and set aside.
  3. Add onion to the skillet and cook until softened. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Stir in crushed tomatoes and simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Add heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Return sausage to the skillet.
  7. Add cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to combine.
  8. Garnish with fresh basil.
